Congratulations, Enrique!
Enrique Zavala, (pictured, front row, 4th from left) one of our very own BICSI Certified cabling technicians, competed in the national 2011 BICSI Cabling Challenge, held in Orlando, Florida in January. The competition brings together cabling technicians from around the nation and features challenges in structured cabling, copper and fiber termination, cable assembly, trouble-shooting, technical support, professionalism and a written competency exam.

What Does it Mean to be BICSI Certified?
We accept nothing less than quality work and ETS knows what it means to be BICSI Certified. While this is not a complete list by any means, here are a few pointers about what it takes to be BICSI Certified:
	•	Remove and discard all old cabling
	•	Label appropriately
	•	Color-coding of termination files
	•	Understanding and acknowledging the weight of cables
	•	Not utilizing rods or wires as attachment points
Did You Know?
Sixteen 4-pair 24 AWG UTP cables, including fasteners, is equal to 2.2 lbs. That adds up fast!
